Don’t it annoy you when that one roommate always has to crank the heater even when it’s not particularly cold. They’d think twice if they had to pay the pg&e bill. Or when they are too lazy to go to the store and they eat your food and pretend they bought it. Or you go out of town for a few days and all of a sudden your dirty clothes basket is now in their room. As if it became free game since you didn’t touch it for a few days.Or try cleaning up after yourself and your sobborific friends, the maid quit snd your mama don’t live here, Or involving me in your financial drama – just pay your part of the rent – we aren’t married!!!
Grow up – if I wasn’t already moving in a few months I would be giving you a 30 day notice!
The final chapter in my motorcycle crash from last August. I suffered a tear in my abdominal wall aboce my left hip (hernia). It was repaired yesterday with laparoscopic surgery, also called minimally invasive surgery or bandaid surgery. laparoscopic surgery is a modern surgical technique in which operations in the abdomen are performed through small incisions (usually 0.5–1.5cm) as compared to larger incisions needed in traditional surgical procedures.
The surgery was done through three small incisions. Now I am resting and healing with vicodin for pain control.

I saw the surgeon for a follow up last Thursday. The repair is healing well and I can start exercising again in 3 weeks. There will be no physical limitations in 5 weeks.
Is it weird when your surgeon keeps trophy photos? The crash evidently caused my abdominal wall to separate from my left hip and my colon snaked into the pocket. Now my left side is full of staples.
OK guys, if you are past puberty there is no drug, chemical or treatment that will make your penis larger. End of discussion. You can now ignore the commercials and fixate on something else.
I have two fun filled mornings at the California DMV. Monday, I went to pay the registration on my 2008 BMW K1200GT.
I never received a renewal notice so I was there on the last possible day to avoid the penalty. I discovered that someone had tried to run a lien sale on my m/c and now I needed to prove that I still owned the m/c, which is semi-ironic in that I had ridden it to the DMV that morning. The nit wit inspector could not find the VIN number and in my opinion didn’t try very hard. Now I have to go to a CHP office to do a VIN verification to prove that I own what I own. Too much fun.
Tuesday morning, I tried to mend my slacking ways and went to the Seaside DMV again to register my 1987 Toyota P/U. I stopped by the smog shop first and after some initial glitches all was smoothed over for me to proceed to the life sucking vacuum that is DMV. I am amazed that I have to wait an hour to engage in a transaction that took three minutes to complete. The horror that is a bureaucracy knows no limits.
Why do I have a blog? The first reason is to collect cooking recipes in a place that I can find them. To create photo albums that I can show people from anywhere. To keep a list of web links for hobbies and for those things that I find interesting. I think the main reason is to write what I feel for anyone who cares to bother to read it.
This being the case I wanted to mention that which is most important to me. It’s not my fiddle or my motorcycle, but a beautiful woman. I love Elizabeth Morgan Newman madly, passionately and without reserve. She is the spice in my life. I want to thank her and hope that she knows how important she is to me.
Bono has been criticized for his recent article in the NY Times advocating Net Policing so that you can only listen to music if you pay. What is not addressed is why we should give a Rat’s Ass about anything Bono writes or says that doesn’t have to do with music.
He is a musician! Not a scientist, lawyer, philosopher, etc. I don’t care how many albums he has sold. Just because a musician or actor gains a certain threshold of fame doesn’t add any credence to the ideas that they spout. Just say “No” to Bono.
Bureaucrats can be very annoying and strangely comforting. Even when they are causing you frustration they provide the comfort of process and stability.
I just installed wordpress and am still learning the interface. More to come.
